Dominique Cheminais is a South African novelist, born in Cape Town in 1984.
In 2013, she self-published her first two books, Slim Foot on the Neck of a Dead Lion: a
collection of short stories, and The Immovable Movers: a book of abstract poetry.
In 2015, she completed her first novel, The Animal Breaking Through the Flesh, and in 2017,
published her fourth book and second novel, Eighty-Four Thousand.

Although her work takes inspiration primarily from Literary Fiction, Philosophical Fiction and
Satire, her style straddles the borders of Metaphysical Fiction and Fabulism adding an element of
the fantastical and the surreal to her writing.
